Red Army on the March - September 1943

This is a really fascinating image because the person in front is a girl!  She isn’t carrying a weapon, but otherwise she looks like she has similar accoutrements.  I don’t know much about the Soviet Army during WWII, but I know some of my readers do and I’m curious if anyone can tell us what/who she is.  Anyone know?

Gone with the Wind was released in 1939 and immediately started a trend for huge summer hats like Scarlett’s iconic straw one. This great striped capeline was made the following year.
